Celebrating the 30th Anniversary of founding Solidarity – Obchody 30 Rocznicy powstania Niezależnych Związków Zawodowych SOLIDARNOŚĆ

On Sunday, September 12, 2010, Polish American Congress Northern New Jersey Division celebrated 30th anniversary of forming the Independent Labor Union Solidarity in Poland.

After a patriotic mass at the Salvadorian Monastery in Verona, NJ former members of Solidarity and Independent Student Unions NZS who were interned after the Martial law was declared in Poland on December 13, 1982 received diplomas of recognitions from the PAC Northern New Jersey Division.

The following interned received diplomas: Eugeniusz Łuczak, Marian Wroński, Paweł Grzegorczyk, Zbigniew Kozicki, Grzegorz Michalski, Cezary Lipert, Franciszek Lipert, Zbigniew Herman, and Wojciech Siemaszkiewicz.

About Wojciech Siemaszkiewicz
Mr. Siemaszkiewicz joined the Polish American Congress, Northern New Jersey Division in the spring of 2010 and was elected as its National Director. He was born in Poland in 1958. During his studies at Jagiellonian University (1978-1982), he became involved with the Independent Student Union (Niezależne Zrzeszenie Studentów, NZS) and actively participated in its organization. Mr. Siemaszkiewicz was interned on December 31st 1981 after Martial Law was introduced in Poland.
