Between Stalin and Hitler: Mass Murder in Central Europe

Timothy Snyder‘s Bloodlands: Europe Between Hitler and Stalin is a lucid, humane, and moving account of the history of the region between Hitler’s Germany and Stalin’s Soviet Union, with new information from formerly classified archives and rich with individual accounts of the horror.

Professor Snyder will speak about his book, and join historians Istvan Deak (Columbia University), Yaroslav Hrytsak (Lviv University), and Pawel Machcewicz (Warsaw University) for a discussion of new approaches to the history of terror in Central Europe. John S. Micgiel will chair.
